These publications contain nearly every major expedition and geographical achievement of the last 175 years.
Beginning with the exploration of the Niger River in Africa by Richard Lander and the dramatic search in the Arctic for Sir John Franklin in the 1830’s all the way to the heroic achievements of Shackleton, Scott and Amundsen in the Antarctic (1909-12) and the Ascent of Mount Everest by Hillary and Tenzing in 1953. Most articles and papers are accompanied by full colour maps. Much can be found here that was never printed in the official books which often appeared years later.
